From newborn screening and improved clinical management to hydroxyurea therapy, better pain management, increased public awareness, and stronger advocacy, thousands of lives have been transformed. More people living with sickle cell disease are surviving longer and living fuller lives than ever before.

That is why we are excited to unveil the Ekiti State Sickle Cell Disease Strategic Framework (2026–2031)—a civil society roadmap developed to support state-led prevention, integrated care, advocacy, and policy development.
This framework is not just another document on a shelf. It is a call to align government, healthcare professionals, civil society organisations, development partners, advocates, and communities around a shared vision: improving the lives of every person affected by sickle cell disease in Ekiti State.
